Context

LA Tourism needed some fresh aerial photos of various points around Los Angeles and Orange County.

Brief

Negotiate the dense airspace surrounding LAX and SNA airports, shoot various aerial landscapes around dusk and dawn, highlight the diverse coastal terrain and developing cityscapes of both counties.

Solution

The brief required an experienced helicopter pilot who I found via a friend. Nailing down a pilot I could trust was huge, and allowed me to focus on nailing the shots. Before flying, we carefully selected the geographic areas to visit in sequential order. We worked together as a team via headsets and accomplished all of the shots we needed, efficiently. I made a series of trips to LA over a year to complete the portfolio. 

Outcome

I delivered a series of compelling images intended for digital, internal communications, and advertising, promotion.
