Photography, Post Production
New York City, NY
This was a brief personal project that I had been on my to-do list for a while. I was in New York City for a Creative Live presentation and had a few hours of downtime. I jumped in a cab and went down to lower Manhatten and One World Trade to contemplate the Memorial and make a few frames.
I remember the events of September 11, 2001, vividly as I was an airline pilot at the time. Flying in and out of LGA before and after, I'll never forget the nightly glow of this site in the distance as we approached from the west, the distinct, ashen smell penetrating the flight deck as the cabin door was opened.
Returning to this spot years later clenched my throat.
